Borrow the tools you need. Share the tools you don't. Save money, reduce waste, build skills and support Newbiggin.
Powered by Elizabethan Hall and local people.
Elizabethan Hall is putting its own equipment into the catalogue from day one.
Your unused tools can help a neighbour complete a job without buying something they'll rarely use.
Share more, buy less and keep useful equipment working in the community.
Borrowing fees help run Toolshare, maintain equipment and replace worn or broken tools.
35 tools in the pilot catalogue — Hall equipment plus approved tools passed on by local people.
Pass it on to Elizabethan Hall and help make a difference in our local community.
Your unwanted tool could help a neighbour complete a job without having to buy equipment they may only use once or twice.
By passing on a tool, you are helping to support local people, support Elizabethan Hall, reduce waste and landfill, and help people build practical skills.
Important: If Elizabethan Hall accepts your tool, ownership passes to Elizabethan Hall. The Hall will then prepare it and make it available through Toolshare.
Help local people access useful tools without the cost of buying equipment they may rarely use.
Help us grow Toolshare and keep the Hall at the heart of the community.
Give a useful tool a new life instead of allowing it to become waste.
Make it easier for people to learn DIY, repairs and practical skills by giving them access to the right equipment.
Please give us enough information to contact you and arrange the handover.
How would you prefer to hand over the tool?

The person collecting must be the named member on the booking, unless Toolshare has agreed an alternative arrangement in advance.
Once your membership has been verified, you won't normally need to provide proof of address each time you collect a tool.
Choose the tool you need, select your dates and submit your booking. Wait for your booking to be confirmed before travelling to the Hall.
Bring your booking confirmation and the details needed to identify your account. A member of the Toolshare team will check the tool out to you.
Make sure you have the correct tool and any accessories included with the booking. If you notice damage or a problem, tell the Toolshare team before taking it away.
Follow the manufacturer's instructions and any safety guidance provided by Toolshare. Some equipment may require appropriate experience or additional guidance.
Bring the tool back to Elizabethan Hall by the agreed return time. Please don't leave tools outside or unattended.
We'll check the tool when it is returned and record it as available again for the next member.
Every tool in Toolshare is there because someone has made it available to the community. Please treat it with the same care you would expect someone to show your own equipment.
Collect it. Use it. Return it. Keep it in the community.
